A Change in Plans

Sometimes I can be a little thick. I started transferring domains over to their new home on Monday and the downtime waiting for them to resolve gave me lots of time to think. (Instead of taking 20 minutes or so, it took a good 36 hours for the first of them to show up here.)

Thinking can be a dangerous exercise for me because it usually ends up in a change of plans. This time is no different. (Yeah, I know there’s always a first time. This ain’t it.)

Anyways, as I was going thought the content from the old sites, it occurred to me that I’m not getting the most out of what I already have. So I changed the plan a little.

The good news is that I didn’t change the process this time. I just tweaked the structure a little, and changed the order I was going to test in. I’m going to work at making all the existing sites turn a profit before I start adding new niches and topics.

The way I see things now, it makes a lot more sense to at least try and make the most out of what I already have, and let that be the foundation for anything to be built on. At least this way I won’t be starting from total scratch, although given the neglected state of most of the sites and lists, I might as well be.

In the next post, I’ll lay out the stats I have on the first site to be worked on.

I’m a somebody! I’ve got a title now!

I know… awfully presumptuous of me ain’t it?

I was writing an email earlier and it needed one of those proper business-like closings, but I never know what to put there.  I really hate labels and giving myself an executive style name just doesn’t suit my style. So I am now officially the Chief Blogger and Coffee Maker. :)   I still think that Chief Blogger and Bottle Washer has a better ring to it, but I thought that would make me sound like all I do is sit at my computer and drink all day. Except for when I’m washing out the bottles, of course. :)

It’s late, and I think the day’s coffee is finally wearing off.  G’night for now.

Moving East – Stage 1 Research

Today marks the official beginning of the Moving East plan. I’ve actually run out of things to procrastinate with, so it’s really time to get down to serious work here! :)

The beginning of my plan relies heavily on what I learned in the 30 Day Challenge last month. The research system developed there is one of the best I’ve ever seen, and I will be using that to determine which niches and keyword phrases to focus on.

I’ve already got a list of twelve possible niches to start with, so the focus for this week will be testing to see which of these, if any, are worth pursuing all the way to the product creation stage. I am fully expecting to have to scrap some of them part way through the process, but that’s okay. I have more than enough ideas to work with. The hardest thing I’ve done so far is to decide on the first twelve to start with.

Why am I starting with 12 at once? Well, the goal is to create income streams that bring in at least $700 a week, every week. And since I’m relying on small, low cost reports instead of $97 products at this point, I need lots of them. The way I have it figured, I need 100 sales a week to meet my goal, and that means that I need to be producing at least one of these reports for sale every week.

That’s why the 30 Day Challenge way of testing is so important to the overall plan.  It’s fast, has been proven to get results in as little as 48 hours, and provides a way to create income even while you’re in the testing stage. So by the end of this week I will know which of these first twelve will be getting reports created for them. And in next Sunday’s summary, I should be posting that I’ve got a product online and bringing in sales. :)

But for now, it’s keyword research time. After lunch, that is.
